Vamanos Playlist Soca

I talked to you many times of Ghetto Bassquake, if you're looking for the new tropical sounds and scenes across the globe, you'll certainly know Ghetto Bassquake and Masala.
Ghetto Bassquake are 3 persons, Vamanos in Brixton, Chief Boima in Oakland and Fruko in Bogota.
Long time I would do something with those guys.
It's the carnaval season so Vamanos dropped us a Soca Playlist.

1) Blaxx - Tanti Woi
I heard that this was a massive hit this year at Tinidad carnival. Its on The Swahili riddim which I'm loving as it has a real South African feel.

2) Fay Ann-Lyons - Get On
I can safely say that this is my favourite ever soca jam. Its just explodes on the drop. Pulling this up at Secousse carnival last summer was one of my happiest times DJing.

3) T.O.K. - Supa Soak
A new one for 2011 from T.O.K. on the Sumo riddim. A real flag waver with T.O.K. switching up their vocal pitches as usual. Banger.

4) Patrice Roberts Feat. Macka - Wukkin Up
I just love Patrice's vocal on this jam. It always gets girls grinding.

5) Machel Montano Feat. Busy Signal - Push Bumpa Remix
2009 was a big year for soca for some reason. So many hits. Busy is one of my favourite dancehall Deejays and his vocals on this with Machel fit together amazingly well. Its light and funky.

6) Ricky T Feat Mr. Vegas - Pressure Boom Remix
I found this track in a market Nicaragua a few years ago where soca is pretty popular as they have a big caribbean influence from the people on East coast. The drums are thunderous.

7) Bunji Garlin - We Done Deh (Island Iron Refix)
On the La Douma riddim, this one is super hypnotic and kind of tribal. A big Secousse jam.

8) JW & Blaze - Palance
The best video and dance soca has ever seen! Even Beyonce was doing this in her caribbean shows last year.

9) Lil Bits - Sweetness
I just heard this after The Heatwave played it on their show and Its on the Honey comb riddim. I've never heard of Lil Bits but I'm loving the 'Sweets for my Sweets line'.

10) Beenie Man - Jump & Wine
This was one of the first soca tracks I bought on vinyl and still sounds amazing when the Bass line drops. A classic from Chinese Laundry productions I think from the late 90s.
